Course overview
This course looks at the definition of end of life care, explores common questions and themes, informs learners of the range of possible approaches to end of life care, provides learners with an understanding of how to support a person’s familial, spiritual, social and emotional needs, and prepares the learner to confront issues of death and bereavement.
The qualification is designed for anyone who is seeking to increase their knowledge of end of life care in a vocational setting. It’s aimed at those working in the healthcare sector whose job description includes caring for those who have a life-limiting illness and is also appropriate for those who have already achieved other qualifications in the healthcare sector who need to apply their understanding in palliative care.

No practical training is required to complete this course.
Prerequisites
You do not need to have any additional qualifications before studying this course, however, you might find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 2 qualification in a health or health and social care related area.
Learners should be at least 16 to undertake this qualification.
Level
On successful completion of this course you will achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care qualification.
The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care is a regulated qualification. This means it is a nationally recognised qualification, regulated by Ofqual in England.
This qualification would support your role within the health and social care sector, or allow you to progress to other Level 3 or 4 qualifications, such as the Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health, or Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (England).
This course has a credit value of 16 total credits.

- Achieve the NCFE CACHE Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care* at Level 3
